How much does custom framing cost?
Custom framing prices vary from piece to piece. Some of the factors to consider: the size of the artwork or piece being framed. Do you want matting and how much? Does it need museum quality materials? Other things that alter price are the frame you choose, as each one varies in price, glass type and how time or labor intensive is the project? Is it a poster that is fairly simple or is it a shadow box that is more complex?
The best way to get an accurate price is to the bring the piece into Wake Forest Art & Frame and speak to one of our talented designers. They will happily give you an estimate on anything you choose.
Our usual turn around time is under 2 weeks depending on how busy we are and the complexity of the order. That said, with the start of Covid 19 our vendors are short staffed and sometimes our materials are backordered. We At WFAFS will always do our best to get your piece to you in a timely manner. If there is a delay we will notify you promptly.
Yes! Typically we can accommodate rush orders. All of our frames are custom made to order so we will usually need at least three to five days depending upon our delivery schedule and the timing and complexity of your order. There is a rush order fee of $20-$50.
I’ve never had anything custom framed before and I don’t know what I want. Is that a problem?
Nope! We at Wake Forest Art & Frame have professional designers that are skilled at choosing just the right options for your art. We can choose for you or present you with several different selections to help you understand all that is available to you.
What types of materials do you use?
All of our framing materials are of the highest quality. All of our glazing (glass) has UV protection and some types offer reflection control as well. All of our matting and substrates are acid free or rag (archival). We will discuss all of our options with you to make sure that you are getting framing materials that will best protect your piece and suit your budget.
The short answer is yes. It is custom, meaning each item is ordered and created just for you and your artwork.
That said, we have a huge variety of frames and have worked hard to offer a wide variety of price ranges as well. We feel confident that we can assist you in finding something that you will love that will also suit your budget!
No, you can stop in the Wake Forest Frame Shop anytime during our regular business hours (please check our website for holiday hours). Typically there is not a wait to be assisted by one of our designers.
If you have a large number of items or prefer to make an appointment just give us a call to set up a time.

“Hi Rose! I just wanted to thank you, again, for the exceptional job you did on all three of our framing requests! They were all very different pieces and I was convinced that figuring out framing and matting was going to be a nightmare — but you made it absolutely painless! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We will definitely be back for all of our future framing needs!!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“It really helps that the design team are all artists as well as a framers. They are able to take a piece of art or photograph and recommend the frame and matting that brings out the very best in the artwork. I use Wake Forest Art and Frame exclusively and regularly recommend it to everyone!”

“Each time I go in, I am asked about what type of decor I have, questions about where it will hang, what I am going for, things that really do matter when you are having something framed. If you go to a big box store, I promise, you will not be asked about your home—they don’t care. They just want to frame your pic and get you out of there. This is not how WF Art and Frame practices. They know that you will have this item hanging where you will see it every day, and they know that you want it to be special. I’ve had paintings, concert posters, a jersey, and an autographed t-shirt all framed here, and I love the result of every item I have had framed.” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
